Title: The Lost City

The Lowdown

Ok folks, here we go... This was originally meant to be the SG-1 film, so there are high expectations. I hope I catch most of it for you! What have I forgotten... oh yeah! One little tiny detail. Jack is actually in this ep!
See below for information on why I am not reviewing in detail. It's not because I am too lazy, promise!

Mr Richard Dean Anderson was phenomenal with his beat acting in the second part of this double ep. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We start with Jack shaving in a steamy mirror with a crossword taped to it. Daniel calls him in the middle of it and he picks up his mobile (cell) phone. Daniel is excited because he translated a monument and has discovered that there is another ancients repositiory just waiting to give them the answers to where the Lost City. Jack realises that he has shaving cream all over his phone so as Daniel is whittering on, he dunks it in the water and rinses it off! Then he asks Daniel for the answer to a one of the questions for the crossword. Apparently he and Sam have a bet on Jack completing the crosswrod and Daniel promised that he wouldn't help him. Whats Up, Down, Charmed... and Daniel answers 'Strange'. Out comes Jack the dumb and he looks perplexed as he says, 'Yeah, thanks anyway!'

We then cut to Dr Elizabeth Weir, played by Jessica Stein, who is talking on her hands free cell while she tries to get a cab. The cab is about to be taken by a guy who speaks Russian to her, in an attempt to intimidate her and get the cab, but she answers him in Russian. Obviously he doesn't believe her that she is going to the White House, until a limo pulls up with obligatory man in black, comms in ear. She says to the Russian that he can have the cab and steps inside to see our favourite and Jack's... Vice Prez Kinsey. Cue da humming peeps!

Alright, this is where I think Ms Steen lost the role to someone else. She looks just like Amanda when she smiles and her mannerisms are very similar. Shame, because throughout this episode she is very good in a difficult role... Having to fill the shoes of someone in a show sucks, ask Corin Nemec.

Kinsey briefs her in his favourite place, a limo. Maybe he has seen the film 'No Way Out' and thinks that his luck is in??? Anyway, she asks if he is joking and he pulls out a note from the Prez, still played by the brilliant William Devane, and on it is written, 'This is NOT a joke.' He hands her the brief on the SGC. 'Oh my God.'

We cut to the humour in the lift (elevator)... wait a sec. You peeps reading this, you really need to tell me if you want English, English or American English, because there are so many differences sometimes! I am starting to feel like Daniel and Sam having to explain alien text or scientific theories! Tell me please!

Ok in the elevator, Jack is still trying to complete the crossword and in it is Martin Wood, the director, without his wrench...ask me about that later, and he is shaking his head at Jack as he fills in another piece of the crossword. He is in no hurry whatsoever, thinking that Daniel has gone on one of his enthused rants...
He is greeted by the team as the doors open, they have been waiting for him for over an hour! So has the General. Sam gets it out of him that he has been in his truck trying to do the crossword as it is 'double or nothing'. Which begs the question what the other bet was that he lost to Sam. She calls him on some of the answers...he got wrong, so it seems he lost again!

Then we cut to some exposition in the favourite place, the Briefing Room. Colonel Reynolds from SG3 and Major Harper from SG5 are there and they join in on the mission briefing.
Jack has not read his memo, or report. No change there! Daniel tries to help him save face by the way he reiterates. 'Why wouldn't we want to...' blah blah. Nice save but he still doesn't really get it. Hammond can't understand why Jack would want to go through the head grabbing, download, and subsequent rewrite of brain again. Remember what happened last time? There was something cruvus with his words. Ok so sometimes I crack myself up...

I'll you what, I'll leave it there...

I am not going to review the final episode until you have all seen it. You should wait with nervous anticipation, on the edge of your seat and ENJOY it, without being told what to expect. It spoils the fun. Believe me you will apprieciate the fact I am not spoiling this episode for you. Suffice to say you will not be disappointed.

You can tell me if you want me to continue, or if you want me to review both parts when it is finished!
