Disclosure is a clip episode...this means the script is worked around previous episodes
clips. They are not really good episodes, however this one is slightly different.
They do show clips throughout the story, but the writers haven't done such a bad job with weaving
a decent storyline. It should open up the following season to allow more multi-cultural teams. Something,
I believe would not be a bad thing! Anyone else fancy seeing their country represented in a team? We digress...
This episode starts with a summit at the Pentagon, with the British (Ok, I think I wasn't the only
one to be able to tell the cliched stereotyped Brit in the room), French and Chinese along with the
Russians and General Hammond.
Major Davis is incharge of the briefing and to begin with they think its all a joke.
That is until Kinsey walks in and is a totall, uhmmm I need to say this get it off my chest so to speak....a Tosser.
Sorry :-)
But he starts to diss the SGC, Hammond and SG-1 infront of the ambassadors from those countries.
Totally unprofessional if you ask me.
Anyway, there are loads of episodes too numreous to mention that they play clips from to
explain the X-300 series of ships, the Goa'uld, the Asguard and the NID activites.
They also show all the problems like the blackhole in Matter of Time, and the Foothold and... Message in a Bottle.
It's all about Kinsey saying to the rest of the countries, that the NID should run the SGC not the Airforce.
He keeps pulling out the negatives to what the SGC has done and Hammond and Davis constantly counter his negativity.
To cut a long story short, the Chinese will reveal the Stargate to its people and so will the others.
The Russian Colonel, I forget his name, actually has a little word in the Chinese's shell like (ear to non Brits)
and says, hey the Americans stump up the money for this and we reap the rewards!
The Russians are happy with the arrangements.
After that the Chinese ambassador listens, but is still not happy.
It's all not helped in the least by the tosser Kinsey, who has just been made head of Intelligence oversight,
putting him in direct control of the NID. After Hammond is told this by Davis,
he says don't worry, I have my own ace to play. He talks about the fact that they have been acting
as ambassadors for Earth to the Allies the Asgard.
And boy does he have an ace people...
Thor drops in on the meeting!
Yes, jaws drop around the room. He says that he is in the debt of SG-1 and Hammond
and that they are not only Allies, but friends.
Kinsey goes all nicey nicey and addresses him as Commander Thor with his finger up,
but Thor raises a finger in response (absolutely hiliarious really...) and says SUPREME Commander Thor...
and says that Jack says to send Kinsey to another planet, but Thor thinks it is in jest.
In a nutshell he vouched for Hammond and his team and says that even though someone else may control
the Stargate, the Asgard would 'prefer' the SGC with Hammond and SG-1. He also said in recompense
for SG-1 saving his galaxy and he emphasises and your galaxy, they have returned to outfit the
Prometheus (X-303) with Asguard Shield and weapons capability.
Thor leaves and well everyone falls over themselves to back Hammond.
Nothing like a little Alien in your midst to change your mind!
Kinsey's last words????
I'll say this General, well played.
Touche! I think. All in all we have to remember it's a clip episode, so the four chevron
rating is really only for the fantastic bit with Thor at the end.
