Oh here we find out why we have such difficult to remember gate
addresses, all I can say is thanks Carter for making it so easy
to understand... it's based on a binary code, oh joy I just
get that don't you? Now do you all feel like you are a dumb
Colonel named Jack?
We also have our eyes opened to a Daniel with a sense of humour!
He quips that it's his front-side he is worried about and asks
quite innocently if his night goggles have his prescription! I think
we miss out on this in later episodes.
The gung ho jarheads that are SG-3 Marines, join SG-1 on this mission
to a perpetually dark world. Doesn't the Malp have lights?
D'oh!
Soooo... we see SG-1 troop up the ramp to boldy, slaps myself
wrong series again! They step through first with night vision goggles
with Makepeace shouting Have it your way flyboy! Do
they have no better quips to say? As the intrepid explorers step
through, they find the Malp in a mess. Does anybody have respect
for equipment in this universe! Poor ole Siler.
Ok anyone else worried that it was all too easy... oh no! Just
when you think you are getting somewhere mad Neanderthals jump you!
Who says trekking oops travelling thru the universe was safe, so
help me... And we have our first obligatory injury... A lovely
eyebrow scar adds such character don't you think? Just ask
Mr Shatner!
Daniel has NO idea what type of people attacked them and Carter
hates the fact that the woman, the Leader of the Untouched's
daughter, Melosha, we find out later, is about to be raped. But
as they are about to help, someone else beats them to it in the
proverbial nick of time, looking like Casper the Friendly ghost
in their outfits!
When they follow them to the city, it's perpetually light!
No? Is that why they call it the Land of Light? Sarcasm is sometimes
lost in just words... Words cannot express things, speech
cannot convey the spirit, swayed by words, one is lost. Thank
you Oma for those words of wisdom. Shove off, I'm busy J They
decide to return to Earth as there are no Goa'uld or reason
to stay.
During the debriefing, Johnson attacks Teal'c and all hell
breaks loose with those that went to the planet. The problem spreads
and Hammond locks the mountain down, no one in or out.
Ok at this point I will try to remain objective... nope sorry
gonna completely lose it here. Carter jumps O'Neill! Ok girls
try to remain calm and boys... no fantasizing about Carter jumping
you! You wish! Who am I kidding, this is the highlight of the episode
for most people whatever gender! Oh you poor man! As our esteemed
Daniel says before he gets his head beaten in by a touched Jack.
And he calls her Samantha! OK enough shipping!
So, after all touched are safely locked away or restrained, tied
up or whatever you call it, steady now, can those thoughts people,
yeah I know what you're thinking!
Dr Fraiser is asked to find out what's happening and sends
Daniel and Teal'c back to the planet to get a blood sample.
Daniel is jumped again, what can I say there is a lot of jumping
in this episode! Teal'c loses him and has to go to the light
part of the planet to get the blood. When they refused to help,
typical, how much convincing do these people need for crying out
loud? He takes out the guards, nicks their blood and returns to
Earth, way to go Teal'c! During this time, Jack asks to be
experimented on and Hammond joins him in isolation, oh and Carter
gets into a fight getting stabbed in the process.
Sigh, what a mess! Anyway good ole Dr Fraiser, its her first episode,
so cut her some slack on the naff hair. It is she that figures out
it's a histamine thingy, yeah ok so I don't get it anymore
than you guys, and because she and Daniel take anti-histamines,
they were immune.
So as he asked her so endearingly, she gives it to Jack first and
hey presto!
Lucy I'm homeeeeee... Ok so Teal'c still thinks he
is mad and so do we! They let him out and the whole base gets dosed
up and try to find get Daniel, whose anti histamines have worn off.
On finding him they discover he is with Melosha, prompting Jack
to quip about the fact Daniel seems to have a girl on every planet!
Hey so he's noticed too! They dart him and take him back to
the Land of Light to recover, which naturally he does otherwise
we wouldn't see him in the next episode. Duh!
The people of the Land of Light come out to greet their long lost,
terrible-looking relatives they condemned to a life of primitive
oblivion and become best friends with Earth. Bless.
Oh and there is yet another lovely moment between Carter and O'Neill.
She is a little worried about the altercation while touched and
he quips about the wound she received, hoping that there will be
no scar... she says why... he replies with - If it doesn't
heal properly you'll never wear that sweet l'il tank top
number again!
The morale of the story... is there one mmmm, lets see...
Don't forget to visit the Doc before you travel, you never
know what these mozzies are gonna carry and leave you with! |
