Title: CHILDREN OF THE GODS - Pilot Episode for the series.

The Lowdown
Isn't it a little worrying in that some of the bullets that hit the Jaffa at the beginning have no effect? But then in later episodes it shows that they are now using armour piercing rounds silly me.
Oh well, to our brand spanking new series... Starts off with Apophis coming and nicking a blonde sergeant and going back leaving Hammond with a fish like mouth (how did he get back without a DHD or a computer that they know how to work? Hmmm)

Meet Colonel Jack O'Neill (retired), calm down girls, who gets recalled to Cheyenne Mountain. They decide to send a box of tissues through the Stargate to Abydos to determine if Dr Jackson is still alive instead of a bomb, a wonderful way of clearing the nasal passages don't you think? A team gets put together (we see a nice little interaction between O'Neill and Carter...he loves women, just has a problem with scientists) and they go back to Abydos to see if the yukky glowy eyed alien Ra is still alive.

Dr Daniel Jackson greets them, and O'Neill ignores him seeking the young Skaa'ra first. Daniel has been busy in the time away from Earth, marrying a beautiful model (coughs) native Abydonian Shau're... The start of a trend methinks! Girl on every planet?
Carter and Jackson discover that the Stargate can go anywhere in the universe... It would be a pretty short series otherwise!

The base camp gets raided by the glowy eyed git and his lackeys (Apophis and his Jaffa to you and I), they kill most of them and take Shau're and Skaa'ra. Only Ferretti can tell them where they took them and he is seriously injured. They all go back through the gate to Earth, where Daniel receives a less than nice reception from Hammond. It comes to light that they are at another planet, the coordinates given by Ferretti, bless his heart, he remembered.

The SGC is created with nine new teams!
Two of which are sent to find them it's SG-1!!! and SG-2, their mission to get rid of that pesky glowy eyed being and to save the day by rescuing Shau're and Skaa'ra.
One is led by O'Neill, the two by Kawalski. Kawalski is left to guard the gate while, O'Neill, Carter and Jackson make their way and oh no! They get captured! What a surprise.
Shau're is melded with Amonet, Apophis' Queen and is now viewing the world through less than rosy coloured spectacles. It is worth noting that many of my male friends freeze the picture on the certificate 18 version... she is naked during the melding of the symbiote with the host (Shau're). The editors saved us girls from it in the television version.
Skaa'ra and Jack are reunited in the prison, such a wonderful meeting place don't you think? Daniel tries to be chosen as a host, something of the host must remain!! Wake up and smell your much loved coffee Danny boy, I think not!
Skaa'ra ends up being the chosen child of the gods. The order is given to kill everyone else so Jack appeals to Apophis' first Prime Teal'c to help, he does and they escape the prison. Kawalski saves the day by knocking a death glider attacking the fleeing escapees. Skaa'ra, who is now Klorel, knocks Jack down with the ribbon device and goes through the Stargate to an unknown destination.
Kawalski develops a little vermin problem. The stage is set and a new series is born as they search for their lost friends and seek to eliminate the threat against the Earth... to boldly go... oops wrong star thing... to boldly LEAP through the gate to destinations unknown.

Quotes & Facts

Jack: "For this you can stay at my place lets go!" (ok, breathe... you do see him in Dress uniform in this episode)
Daniel: "I realllllly have to be on their team." (we can see toys thrown out of the pram if he doesn't get to be on their team).
Sam: "It is appropriate to refer to a person by their rank not their salutation you should call me Captain not Doctor."..."You can actually see the fluctuations in the event horizon." (OH please!!)
Picky people moment: Kawalski is referred to as Major in the briefing room and Captain on Chulak... Ouch on the demotion poor guy!
Whumping moment (for those injury mad people): Daniel gets ribboned (for those that are unsure, it's the device the Goa'uld use to basically protect and maim with) and Jack gets hit over the head twice with a staff weapon.
Shipper moment (for those romance fans): Daniel and Shau're playing tonsil hockey in front of everyone (awwwwwww).
