Dearest friends of Stargate Alpha...


It is my sad duty to announce, on behalf of his mother Sue, that Nick Jones, our beloved Jack - my co creator of this site, has passed away. He died at 6.30am Tuesday 4th January 2010 at the age of 37.

Nick suffered from a condition called Muscular Dystrophy, which he hid very well from everyone on the net - a medium where he excelled and bought joy to the users of the sites he developed and the cms systems he created. I always teased him, that he was the Stephen Hawking of websites...

Nick's cheery disposition and positive attitude could never fail to lighten a chat room. He was a great kidder too - always teasing people. I personally, will miss him greatly - Stargate Alpha would never have been realised had he not put his technical knowhow and our creativity together to build the site that bought people together. He went on to develop PHP Fusion, which is used the world over on the www for many sites.

Nick's mother has arranged the funeral for Wednesday and I will collect donations for the charity of her choice (in lieu of flowers) - which is for Muscular Dystrophy. If you should wish to send a message to his mother, please do so via myself - universe@stargate-alpha.com and I will forward them onto her by snail mail. To donate, please use the site donation button, do ensure you mark in the instructions that it's for NICK JONES and what your name is, so that his mother knows.

Rest in peace Nick, lil bro - may you now know no boundries by body so you can now soar.
