SG-1 Australian Premiere

Let me be the first to say what a disapointment channel seven has become in my eyes, as only one of thousands, if not millions of fans around Australia, when they decided to not only premiere season nine of SG-1 with only a short 10 second pitch following a family guy promotion of "followed by an all new season of stargate" featuring a picture of RDA and the title for Stargate, but also moving the timeslot back yet another half an hour to 11 pm.

Outrage is the word that springs to mind. With the length of the series and its popularity, one would belive that the least channel seven can do is research their promotions and perhaps include an image of someone that appears in the series for more than a couple of sparadic guest appearances and understand that "Stargate" is the title of the syndication, not the series.

But the timeslot change is what has me most peeved, yet again another great program that has served in bringing the station more than its fair share of ratings has been moved to a timeslot where only the most devoted are capable of watching, and only if they looked up the information in advance, for there was no forewarning of the season premiere any more than 4 hours prior to its airing.

With an abundance of reality television programming being shoved down our throats, why not replace some of the trash on TV with some quality programming such as SG-1 or Atlantis, then perhaps they might be able to bring in some new viewers to such a great pair of programmes.
